Options to Stop Foreclosure
Several months ago, my husband broke the news to me: if we didn't do something soon, we were going to lose our house. Now, please realize this is our dream home, but we did opt for adjustable rate financing when the rates were low - and now - with rates rising, we started to get behind in our mortgage payments. After trying to figure out how to save our house and get back on track with payments (which we eventually did), I felt compelled to write about what we learned in our process.
It's so sad, but the number of house foreclosures is steadily rising all across the nation. People are facing bankruptcies in astounding numbers because they don't know how to stop a bank foreclosure and they don't know that the first step is to react AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! The more time you give yourself when getting behind on your mortgage, the more options you will have available to you. Talk to a professional and you'll find that a few of your options include foreclosure refinance, selling your house, restructuring your original loan deal and even filing for help through the courts.
The main idea here is to take the blinders off when you first realize you are in trouble and ask for help from a foreclosure professional who is there to help and not judge. You are not alone and there is help!
Good luck!!
