I saved my house

by Amanda
(Phoeniz, Arizona)

It’s cool to see so many responses here about foreclosure. I was able to stop foreclosure myself when we nearly lost our home. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. I worked closely with a professional to help me to find a way to save my home. The only reason that I knew about these options was because my brother was also facing foreclosure. He told me how to stop foreclosure was to get a professional to help me to get caught up on the payments or to even sell the homes before I lost it. I was able to stop foreclosure by getting a hardship loan to help me. It was the best thing I did.

I live in Phoenix Arizona. It’s amazing how many houses are up for sale because people can’t afford it anymore. What are we supposed to do? When my parents were younger, and they couldn’t make a payment on their home, they found a way to get caught up. I don’t understand why so many people don’t fight for their home! You don’t have to lose it to foreclosure! I think everyone should know that you can find other solutions to foreclosure. Thanks for helping me to keep from making this mistake.

Hoping the market changes

Hi there, I saw your post and wanted to comment about it. That's awesome that you were able to stop foreclosure and to save your house. Seems like there are solutions out there, we just have to find them. It is going to take some time for my situation. We are struggling with an adjustable rate mortgage right now and interest rates are set to increase in about two months. We are working on trying to refinance before we wind up in foreclosure too. It looks like from what other people say, the foreclosure consequences are bad.

We really thought that we were going to have to give up on our home. We live in Tucson, which is not too far away from where you live. The home values here are bad, too. I know that it is going to be hard to get our home appraised for the value we need it to be so that we can avoid foreclosure (and that adjusted interest rate.) I came here in the hopes of finding some solutions just in case we can't stop foreclosure from happening with a home refinance. Your story is an inspiration to me! That's for sharing it.

Great Post, it helps

That’s great that you were able to stop foreclosure. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I’m facing it too. Seems that the bank has given us the next 30 days to figure something out. I don’t know what I’m going to do. Hardship loans may be an option for us. We have really bad credit and I thought that maybe we should just let our home go to foreclosure. We’ve been here about 9 years and have a lot of memories here. Hey, our kids were born here. Why do I want to lose my home?

Can anyone share with me their experience? For example, is it possible for me to get out of this quickly? I want to stop foreclosure too. Sounds like there are some options. I know there are a lot listed on this website. But, I would rather hear from someone that actually is going through it right now.

Maybe someone can share with me how they kept from getting out of it. I’m thinking that this could be something for me. What’s a real life situation like? I wonder if I am the only one going through this!
